Ceramics I - IV

Ceramics is a one semester class during which students will learn about the process of creating with clay. Students will build pieces by hand, as well as learn to use the potter's wheel. A variety of decorating techniques will be explored. Ceramics I students will finish pieces such as bowls, mugs, plates and sculptures. Ceramics II - IV students will complete increasingly complex forms, for example, vases and teapots.

Drawing & Painting I

Students in the Drawing and Painting I class will focus on drawing for the first half of the semester, and painting during the second half.  They will use a variety of media including, but not limited to, pencil, charcoal, ink, acrylic paint, and watercolor.  Students will draw from life, as well as experimenting with abstract designs.  Students will also learn about and be inspired by artists throughout history.

Advanced Drawing & Painting

Advanced Drawing and Painting includes levels II - VII.  These students will build upon skills learned in Drawing and Painting I.  They will work on more complex assignments and experiment with new media, for example, colored india ink.  As students become more advanced they will have the opportunity to work increasingly independently to creatively solve visual arts problems.
